GUEST
Peter Gordon, New Zealand Celeb Chef, chatted to me this morning, he is famous for his unique Fusion cooking style which focuses on the best quality and tastiest ingredients, no matter where they originate from. Peter happily mixes flavours from Asia through to the Middle East, the Mediterranean and Europe, along with his native New Zealand. The theme for spring appears to be Lamb and it can be roasted, grilled or pan fried, accompanied by creamy tomato sauces, healthy salads or traditional two veg. Whatever way you cook Lamb it is a great healthy meat and Peter Gordon's native New Zealand produces the most tender lamb at this time of year.

- DRAMATIC plans to revive Southend’s historic pier. The seaward end of the pier would be strengthened and extended to cater for the pavilion, which will include a restaurant or cafe. It hopes the pavilion could be used for conferences, cultural performances, weddings and artist studios. And in the future, once the pavilion is complete, it wants to add a theatre, though extra funding would be needed for this. The plans still need full council approval but the working party has had input and agreement from all the parties.
- JADES TRIBUTE STRIDES ON, A SPONSORED run in memory of reality TV star Jade Goody is to be held in Basildon. Jade’s friends are organising the Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research. It is hoped about 2,000 people will run on June 6, which would have been Jade’s 29th birthday. The event will also include a two-minute silence, led by Jennifer and pals, Kate Jackson, Charlene Hull and Caroline Roberts, before the race. Jade’s fight against the disease led thousands more women to have smear tests.
